The Most Popular Question I Get About Growing Grit
Here’s a question I’ve gotten a lot since launching this newsletter.
“So, what is Growing Grit exactly?” people ask.
“To be honest, I am still figuring that out.” I answer.
My goal was not to have it all figured figured out.
My goal was to just start.
To hit publish on that first email, and go from there.
Since then, I’ve been focused on listening to feedback, trusting God, and showing up for you every week.
But in the last few weeks, I’ve started to work on a list of beliefs or “core values” that help clarify what ideas this is all built on.
Here’s what I have so far:
Growing grit takes hard work.
Growing grit requires having faith.
Growing grit takes being intentional.
Growing grit is living life on life’s terms.
Growing grit is prioritizing people over items.
Growing grit is taking responsibility for your life.
Growing grit is like growing in like any other area.
Growing grit is realizing you cannot face this life alone.
Growing grit is healing from events and people that have hurt you.
If this helps clarify what this newsletter is all about, that’s great.
I will keep trying new content, new formats and sharing stories.
So the next time you have a project you want to pursue, don’t wait to have it all figured out.
Just trust God, lean in, and show up.
