You MUST remember this during hard seasons

A reminder for those you in the midst of a difficult season.

This too shall pass.

In 2017, my wife and I weren’t sure if our son was going to make it.

He spent over 10 months in the NICU and had numerous medical needs. At one point in his NICU journey, his prognosis changed daily. As parents, we were gripped by fear of the unknown and what the next day would bring.

We were so gripped one day, that we weren’t sure we could even step foot back into his hospital room.

Then, I was reminded that regardless of where his journey took us, this turbulent season would one day come to a close.

Maybe not in the way we want, but our son was going to leave that NICU.

That moment was a turning point. We were no longer on a rollercoaster.

We were on a mission.

A mission to be by his side, to show up to the turbulence with him.

A few long months later, we brought him home.

He is now 6 and his journey continues to amaze our family.

There might be something big, scary, or uncertain happening in your life right now.

Maybe you are overwhelmed, and not sure what the next step to take is. There might even be a part of you that you don’t even want to show up to whatever that scary reality is.

No matter how uncertain it feels, keep showing up.

Make that your mission.

Show up when it feels scary.
Show up when it feels unbearable.

Because one way or another, the hard season is going to end.

Whether it ends the way you want it or not.

It’s going to end.

So keep showing up.

That’s how you grow grit.
